What are you doing to work on your PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT? Innovative Fitness Leadership School 2.0 – Q3 2017

What are you doing to leave a LEGACY? Lead 2 teams to successfully complete the Innovative Fitness Adventure Challenge in September, raising over $6000 towards physical literacy in our community.

ENGAGEMENT is key in the trainer/member relationship? Why? When a coach engages a member in an efficient manner, the member truly opens up and trusts that the coach has their best interest in where they need to go. A lack of engagement will create a barrier that will lead to a lack of results from the member.

Why is working towards EXCELLENCE important to you? Excellence is a constant active decision that is made, one does not reach excellence and then put it on cruise control. It is a daily commitment that consists of character, work ethic, and personal accountability.

What has been your biggest physical VICTORY? My first Triathlon in Osoyoos. 1km swim / 60km bike / 10km run in the 44 degree heat. Not a large distance triathlon but I was actually worried of drowning – I ended up having a personal kayak escort, lapped by almost all of the 2km swimmers, by I made it out. Not my most physically demanding event but my biggest victory.

What is your biggest success story of a MEMBER? Leading a recreational cyclist, who had never ridden further than 30km, on a 90km cycle to his childhood home where he first learned to ride a bike. Very emotional, numerous large forces of adversity overcome, and the wettest day of a record hot summer all lead to a very memorable adventure.
